Five No-Cook Appetizers on the Cinder Grill

Five No-Cook Appetizers + One on the Cinder Grill

‘Good things come to those who wait’ is a time honored saying. Fortunately, the wait isn’t very long with the Cinder Grill. Our splendid steak machine sous vides to perfection in a fraction of the time that taken by the traditional water bath. Even so, when entertaining it’s a good idea to serve some delicious appetizers to your guests while they eat. Appetizers can make an ordinary meal special and a special occasion into a feast, especially if they’re easy to make and don’t require cooking. Here are five tasty idea for no-cook appetizers, plus one cooked on the Cinder Grill.

Bruschetta: Versatile Opening Act

Bruschetta, from the Italian word for ‘toast’, includes toasted Italian bread and its toppings.  We tend to think of chopped seasoned tomatoes, but the possibilities extend much further.  Try almost anything that tastes good with bread, from minced artichokes to thinly sliced salami to broiled vegetables. Just don’t forget the olive oil. Indeed, another delicious variation could be ...

Marinated Cheese: Adaptive Appetizers

Many fresh cheeses can be marinated, from mozzarella pearls to cubes of feta.  Simply submerge the cheese in olive oil, dried herbs, and perhaps a dash of your favorite vinegar or some slivers of sundried tomato for extra flavor.  This keeps in jars in the fridge for weeks at a time, ready for easy entertaining in no time.

Homemade Guacamole: Vibrant and Rich

Spicy mouthwatering flavors  welcome in steak. Balance the spice with cool creaminess by making your own guacamole from scratch.  That way you can control the balance, from the heat level to the sour aspect, from the size of the onion chunks to the sweetness of the tomatoes. The segue from creamy spice to savory steak will have a life of its own.

Caprese Skewers: Fresh lead-in to Steak and More

The Caprese combination of tomato, mozzarella, and basil is visually appealing and freshly flavorful.  Skewers of bite-size tomatoes, mozzarella pearls, and vibrant basil leaves are easy to assemble ahead of time and fun appetizers to eat. Serve with vinaigrette, oil and vinegar, or just a sprinkle of salt as you like.

Spring Rolls: Have Guests Participate In Entertaining

Spring rolls composed of rice paper wrapped around fillings can also be made ahead of time, as long as they are held properly (with a damp towel over them under a layer of plastic wrap or foil). However, making them can become a party activity! Just set out the paper and little bowls of fillings and sauces, anything from leftover shredded meat to fresh herb leaves. Then show your guests how to moisten, fill, and roll. You’ll be surprised how quickly the steak is ready and how much fun you had making the appetizers.

Hot Appetizers: Baked Brie

Sometimes hot appetizers are what you need, and few are as elegant and satisfying as a baked brie. Our Chef Critchley designed a delicious recipe for us.  Simply bake it, wipe down the plates, let them cool or swap them out, and start your steak. By then the brie should be ready to serve with the pepper jam and crackers or fruit.

Steak Recipes Worth Waiting For

Of course the main course after these exciting appetizers will be perfectly cooked steaks. We have some tasty suggestions on our recipes page, including Southwestern Rub NY Strip and Classic Filet Mignon. Whichever steak you prepare, these appetizers will make for easy yet exciting entertaining. Whatever you cook, enjoy your Cinder Grill!
